Educational Empowerment for the Formerly Incarcerated
We support the higher education and successful reintegration of the formerly incarcerated. Our mission is to empower individuals who have been impacted by the criminal justice system to achieve academic success and personal growth. Successful university education enhances self-efficacy, civic engagement, and social and global awareness. It also enlarges the moral imagination and instills skills and habits that assist people in securing gainful employment and living meaningful, responsible lives.
By providing tailored support services such as academic advising, tutoring, financial aid assistance, and mentorship, we help formerly incarcerated students navigate the challenges of higher education. We believe that education is a transformative tool that fosters personal development, critical thinking, and a sense of community. Our program not only focuses on academic achievement but also promotes holistic well-being, encouraging participants to engage in campus life and build positive relationships.
Project Rebound at CSUF strives to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can thrive both academically and socially. Our efforts aim to reduce recidivism by offering a pathway to a brighter future, emphasizing the importance of second chances and the potential for change. Through education, we seek to break the cycle of incarceration and contribute to a more just and equitable society.
